Google Ireland as an UNIX systems administrator
Highlight: First administrator hired outside of the United States my job was to build up the Google corporate infrastructure in Europe to support Google's quickly growing business.
PlusNET (UK broadband and VISP provider) as an UNIX systems engineer
Highlight: Planned and executed upgrade of all of PlusNET's core systems that were unable to cope with the move from dialup to broadband.
Netcom UK, GTS, eBone and KPNQwest (European Business ISPs now all part of Viatel) as an UNIX systems engineer
Highlight: Designed and built a pan-european Window Media streaming platform using Tru64 clusters for storage and content management. It took advantage of the eBone 10Gb linked datacentres in France, Germany and the Netherlands. When the dot-com bust hit this product was carved out and sold on as a profit making venture.

Highlight: Discovered and reported major security flaw in Netscape Navigator's implementation of LiveScript (precursor to Javascript)

My first computer was in 1985 (a C64). All through highschool (at Mount Clear in Ballarat while living out near Rokewood) I was always messing with computers and it was in highschool that I learnt just how powerful computer become when networked - I was hooked.
